Heart and Home's History
and Vision
Heart and Home Ministries, Inc. a faith-based 501c3 organization was founded in 1989 by Jerry & Sonja Zielke with a purpose of minstering to the needs of children. A mentorship program was developed in a charter school with 3 locations in North Texas. Caring adults were assigned to spend time with students, two times per month at the school, to help with homework, social issues, or just providing a listening ear.
In 2015, our vision expanded to include an international project, with a focus on feeding and educational programs to children at risk.
In 2016, Jerry and Sonja's daughter, Heidi Dollar, joined the ministry as Director.
In 2020, Heart and Home evolved to minister to victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation in the United States and in other countries.
In 2024, we partnered with the well-respected Project Rescue (projectrescue.com) who has been in existence for 29 years. Project Rescue Foundation joined with us to open a safe home in Honduras for trafficked or sexually exploited girls between the ages of 9-17. Heart and Home Ministries' New Beginnings Safe Home was officially opened on June 2, 2025. In December 2025, there are 9 girls at the home, with room for 9 more.
Heart and Home Ministries, Inc. works here at home and abroad to rescue and restore victims of sexual exploitation through the love and power of God. In part, we accomplish this by sending teams on short-term mission trips who are willing to use their talents on projects to benefit the local outreach.

Our partners and volunteers are dedicated in helping us fulfill our mission. Heart and Home Ministries, Inc.'s vision is to open beautiful, comfortable, self-sustaining safe homes around the world where women and girls who are rescued from being trafficked and sexually exploited can be completely restored. Our objective is to always share the love of Christ to women and children that we have the privilege to meet.
